The Adani Group-owned Ambuja Cements is set to invest Rs.60 billion in renewable power projects. It will seek to target a capacity of 1,000 MW through solar and wind power projects in Gujarat and Rajasthan by 2026. With the lower cost of generation from green power, its power cost will decrease from `6.46 per kWh to Rs 5.16 per kWh. Its acquisition of Sanghi Industries will give it access to the Sanghipuram 2,700 hectare integrated manufacturing unit in Gujarat, regarded as India’s largest single-location cement and clinker production facility.
