Innovative Plumbing Solutions

Lubrizol uses technology to set new standards in performance and reliability for hot and cold water distribution and fire sprinkler systems.

Lubrizol offers the most advanced engineered plumbing and fire sprinkler systems in the world. The company’s products including FlowGuard, BlazeMaster, FlowGuard Bendable and Corzan have been installed and are running successfully for more than 50 years in many commercial, industrial and residential applications. Its TempRite CPVC products are made out of a durable material suitable for long service-life applications such as plumbing and fire sprinkler pipes, residential window trims and industrial process equipment. Essentially, the TempRite product is not used in disposable applications such as packaging, hence generating minimal solid waste.

Hot-n-cold

The FlowGuard System is able to meet the unique needs of the Indian market. Introduced in 1959 as a leader in CPVC technology, it offers multiple benefits including a full team of global field support specialists. The system has a worldwide quality assurance programme with labs in Europe and the US. “Lubrizol considers innovation to be a continuous process and not a one-time activity. We take pride in introducing FlowGuard plumbing systems in India and offering customers an ultra-modern plumbing system,” says Manoj Dhar, Business Development Manager, Lubrizol India.

FlowGuard pipes and fittings are made from a specialty plastic known as chlorinated polyvinylchloride (CPVC), which offers increased product toughness all through the year. The product offers quiet operation, uncompromised water quality (no copper contamination), energy efficiency and reduced condensation and can be easily installed using readily available, inexpensive tools. These pipes and fittings are specially designed to be multi-purpose and cost effective solutions for hot and cold water plumbing. Typical potable water piping requirements in houses, apartments, hotels and commercial buildings can be easily accommodated with this system that are approved for hot and cold water application and contact with potable water. It has been installed in many countries including the US, Canada, UK, Germany, France and the Netherlands. The product has demonstrated in service, a life expectancy of more than 50 years. Moreover, being NSF approved, it meets stringent health and safety requirements of ANSI/NSF standards and has 61 drinking water components.

Clean and safe

This system keeps potable water pure and safe. It is equipped with the widest range of pipes and fittings, upto 12 inch each. FlowGuard pipes and fittings are available from 15 mm to 50 mm SDR 11 and 13.5 copper tube sizes and from 63 mm to 300 mm in iron pipe size. It has the distinction of being the first thermoplastic raw material to get the BIS approval (IS 15778) in potable hot and cold water distribution supplies.

With the distinction of having completed the maximum number of projects in India, FlowGuard System is approved by the Central Public Works Department, Military Engineering Services, Public Works Department, Railways, Life Insurance Corporation, Reserve Bank of India and other national organisations.

Social responsibility initiatives

One of the major problems faced by individuals and organisations is the lack of trained technicians and workers. In 2010, Lubrizol addressed this issue and trained approximately 15,000 plumbers. This was an initiative taken by the company through their Certified Plumber Training Programme for its customers.

The company continues to be the world leader in CPVC resins and compounds through an ongoing commitment to R&D, quality assurance, product testing, code compliance and customer service.
