- Jignasu Mehta, CEO, Outinord FormworksCurrently, only about 15-20 per cent of the market is using system formwork, while the rest still uses conventional forms. However, “the increase in cost of labour and the implementation of RERA, which is putting pressure on timely delivery, along with other parameters are forcing the market and customers to use system formworks,” believes Jignasu Mehta, CEO, Outinord Formworks. “The momentum has already begun and we see more and more construction companies moving towards system formworks.” He shares more on the market and the company’s offerings.Which sectors are driving maximum demand, and how do you view the growth potential? We believe that infrastructure has a lot of demand. With housing also part of infrastructure now, this sector will also drive a lot of demand due to government initiatives as well as the affordable housing needs. Developers are also now planning projects under the affordable housing initiative. Demand is already increasing, with more projects coming from different state governments and the Central Government. We have received a project at Rajkot under the Global Housing Technology Challenge initiated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. It is called the light house project for the Central and state governments to check speed, cost and all other parameters.Introduce us to the new formwork and scaffolding technologies offered by the company. We offer various innovative technologies such as tunnel formworks for housing projects. In a day's cycle, we undertake deshuttering, shuttering, rebar and concrete – which seems impossible for a normal construction company. Using tunnel formwork requires only three to four semi-skilled persons, helpers and a crane. This gives an advantage to customers in terms of time and cost savings along with great quality and superb building life with minimal maintenance. Further, we are introducing our modular wall forms for smaller projects. This is a flexible and useful solution for building industrial shed and factories. With this form, it is possible to build at 30 linear m walls in one day with just eight workers. We are planning to introduce this product in the market May 2020 onwards. Besides, we also have formworks for special projects such as nuclear power plants, power plants and other public work projects. We are here to help save time and costs in projects. How cost-effective are your offerings for the building and construction sectors?Outinord offers the most industrialised method of working, and so, we are always cost-effective. When involved in a project at the beginning stage, we can offer support in terms of value engineering. Our team has enormous experience working in different parts of the world in different situations, so we can give the best solution to our customers. We have the in-house capability to provide support for training and also help customers find solutions for contracting, structural design and any other support required for project execution. We have started production of some of the products in India, and we serve our customers from our factory in Pune.Do you offer customised as well as standards solutions? All our specialised solutions make use of standard products. We try to be more modular so all our forms can be used for future projects and for the long term. All our efforts are towards modular products that offer more useful life, that are more cost-effective, and with easy construction methods. We, at Outinord, always believe in giving best quality products, services and delights to our customers.
