India’s first 10-tonnes-per-day (TPD) plastic waste to fuel plant was inaugurated in Pernem. The plant converts non-recyclable plastics into liquid energy. Vishwajit Rane, Minister, Health, inaugurated the facility established by the Goa State Urban Development Agency (GSUDA) through MK Aromatics. He said that if the plant operates successfully, similar facilities will be established in other parts of Goa, addressing the long-standing issue of plastic waste and garbage. The 10-tonnes-per-day (TPD) facility can process various types of plastic waste without the need for washing, shredding or sorting.
