The Maharashtra government headed by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde announced a financial package of Rs.465.79 billion for Marathwada. Construction of 1,300 km length of roads for Rs.127 billion, the multi-crore spending on development of the Tuljabhavani temple in Osmanabad district and other pilgrim sites are significant announcements. The PWD got a large chunk of aid at Rs.24 billion for improvement of 300 km of roads, Rs.1.09 billion for 44 road works with the help of NABARD, Rs.1.88 billion for the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar-Pune highway and Rs.103 billion for improvement of 1,030 km of roads using the hybrid annuity model.
