The Indian Air Force (IAF) has approved a 78-acre land acquisition for the expansion and development of the civil enclave at Darbhanga Airport. Darbhanga Airport began operating civilian flights from the IAF station runway in November last year as part of the Centre’s regional connectivity UDAN scheme. IAF has granted a NOC for the expansion of the airport and the state government will soon acquire the necessary land. An estimate of about Rs.3.36 bn has been given for the acquisition of 78 acre for the airport’s expansion.
