Western Railway (WR) has set complete installation of completed automatic train protection (ATP) System Kavach between Mumbai and Ratlam on Mumbai-New Delhi route by June 2024. WR has awarded three separate contracts for each section for provision of Kavach system of 735 km with 90 locomotives in 2022 and the completion date by 2024. The stretches are 336 km on Virar-Surat-Vadodara section, 96 km on Vadodara-Ahmedabad section and 303 km between Vadodara-Ratlam-Nagda section.
