The Western Railway (WR) has made the decision to extend the harbour line by 8km from Goregaon to Borivli in two phases with a target completion deadline of 2027-28.
It was stated that the extension would aid in alleviating congestion in the Andheri-Borivli section, which is recognized as one of the most congested sections on WR.
