Led by its Chief Executive Officer SN Subrahmanyan, Larsen & Toubro has created a buzz in the construction industry, as the Heavy Civil Infrastructure business of L&T Construction has secured a mega-contract from the National High-Speed Rail Corporation (NHSRCL) -  the biggest EPC contract awarded in the country to date and the first-of-its-kind project. It involves the construction of  87.569 km of the Mumbai–Ahmedabad high-speed rail corridor (MAHSR) project, popularly referred to as the Bullet Train project. The group had emerged as the lowest bidder for the design and construction of 237 km long Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail (MAHSR) corridor.  The EPC major has also executed various projects for metros in New Delhi, Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Kochi, Lucknow and Mumbai.
