The Pune civic administration plans to set up 23 permanent centres across the city to collect e-waste including electronic items, computers, laptops and their hardware after the recent collection of 15 tonnes of such trash. Most of these e-waste collection hubs will come up at the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC)-run gardens to help residents from nearby areas to hand over the e-waste. PMC had conducted e-waste drives but did not have permanent hubs to collect such trash. The permanent e-waste collection centres will help the administration get a rough idea about e-waste generation in the city on a weekly basis.
