Adani Enterprises, Jabil Sign Pact for 50:50 AI Hardware JV

Adani Enterprises and US-based manufacturing company Jabil have signed a non-binding agreement to establish a 50:50 joint venture for manufacturing artificial intelligence and data centre equipment in India. The proposed venture will serve Indian and global customers as demand for computing infrastructure grows.

The venture will make and assemble AI racks, servers, storage and networking equipment. Its portfolio will also include power distribution units, liquid-cooling systems and transformers used to power and manage high-performance computing systems in data centres.

The memorandum of understanding sets out plans for a multi-GW manufacturing platform serving hyperscalers, neoclouds, data centre operators and enterprises. The joint venture will also provide installation and commissioning services, with manufacturing capacity designed to support computing systems with a combined power capacity of several GW.

The agreement remains subject to definitive contracts, regulatory approvals and customary conditions. It follows the companies’ June announcement of their intention to build an AI and data centre hardware manufacturing ecosystem in India.

India’s data centre capacity is projected to reach 5-8 GW by 2030, driven by cloud computing, AI adoption and data-localisation requirements. The companies estimate the global market opportunity for AI computing infrastructure at more than USD 3 tn over the next seven years, while planned hyperscaler spending across data centres, cloud and AI ecosystems in India is estimated at more than USD 50 bn.

The venture would expand Adani Enterprises’ activities beyond energy supply and data centre development into manufacturing the hardware used for AI computing. Adani Group has committed USD 100 bn to develop 5 GW of green-energy-powered, AI-ready data centres by 2035, while Jabil reported fiscal 2026 revenue of USD 36 bn. The partnership will combine Jabil’s engineering and manufacturing capabilities with Adani’s energy and infrastructure assets.
