Finlay Launches Elektro Hybrid Crushing Equipment in India

Finlay, a global manufacturer of mobile crushing, screening and conveying equipment, has introduced its Elektro range of tracked hybrid crushing equipment in India. Developed and manufactured by Terex India at its Hosur facility, the range was officially unveiled at bauma CONEXPO INDIA 2026.

The new range initially comprises two models, the J-1170 Elektro jaw crusher and the C-1540 Elektro cone crusher. Both machines feature diesel-electric technology, allowing operation through mains electricity or an onboard diesel-powered generator. The hybrid configuration aims to reduce fuel consumption, maintenance requirements, operating costs and emissions compared with conventional diesel-hydraulic equipment.

The J-1170 Elektro incorporates a direct electric-drive Terex single-toggle jaw chamber and a heavy-duty vibrating grizzly feeder. Designed for quarrying, mining, demolition and recycling applications, the machine features a high-swing jaw design for efficient material processing, alongside integrated telematics for real-time performance monitoring.

The C-1540 Elektro combines a Terex 1000 cone chamber with direct electric drive and hydraulic closed side setting adjustment. It features automated metal detection, a cone level sensor and an Automax cone crusher designed to improve aggregate quality and maintain consistent throughput.

Mohit Kumar, Assistant General Manager of Products, Terex India, said the Elektro range combines local engineering expertise with Terex's global manufacturing capabilities to deliver improved operational flexibility, reduced ownership costs and greater sustainability.

Nearly 170 customers attended the company's conference and inauguration event preceding the exhibition, highlighting industry interest in hybrid crushing technology.

The J-1170 Elektro and C-1540 Elektro are available in India, with plans to introduce them in selected international markets operating under Tier 3 emission standards. Finlay also intends to expand the Elektro portfolio with additional models.
