Awas Nivesh Yojana Sees 2,500 LIG Flats Booked in Two Hours

More than 2,500 Low Income Group (LIG) flats were booked within two hours of the online booking process opening under the Delhi Development Authority’s (DDA) Awas Nivesh Yojana 2026. Bookings began on October 20 through the First Come, First Serve (FCFS) mode, highlighting strong demand for the discounted homes in Narela, Delhi.

The scheme covers 2,516 flats in Pockets 3 and 6 across Sectors G2-G6 in Narela. Of the total, 1,020 flats are located in Pocket 3 and 1,496 are in Pocket 6. The tentative price starts at Rs. 1.5 mn per flat after the scheme’s flat 25 per cent discount.

The DDA said the response reflected demand for affordable housing and continued confidence among homebuyers in its housing initiatives. The authority said the scheme was intended to make home ownership more accessible to families seeking homes in Delhi, while offering properties at prices adjusted for the LIG segment.

Narela is an emerging sub-city with potential for planned urban growth, and the DDA is developing infrastructure and civic amenities to support its transformation into a residential destination. The authority said its ongoing work was aimed at improving the area’s overall urban environment and supporting future housing demand.

The DDA also said Narela was becoming a residential, educational, institutional and sports hub. Its investments in infrastructure and connectivity are intended to strengthen the area’s role as one of Delhi’s future growth centres, while improving its links with other parts of the capital. The strong booking response is expected to support the authority’s broader efforts to expand access to affordable housing through planned development.
