The Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA) is embarking on six new town planning schemes in the Chandaka and Pahala areas to facilitate comprehensive urban development in the city.BDA has already successfully completed four similar schemes in the Tamando and Chandaka regions, where private plots were acquired from landowners and then returned after systematic development.Officials note that the completed preliminary town planning schemes encompassed Bijipur, Tamando, Sahajpur, Nargoda, Sijuput, Paikarapur, Nuagaon, and Shyamsundarpur villages, covering approximately 1,596 acres.BDA's plans include the implementation of 45 town planning schemes across approximately 58 revenue villages, encompassing a total area of 9,171 acres. Having already completed four schemes, the BDA is set to commence work on six additional schemes in the near future, as stated by BDA Vice-Chairman Balwant Singh.
