Mumbai Sees 12% Rise In Property Registrations In January
Mumbai’s property registrations surged 12 per cent Y-o-Y to 12,249 units in January 2025, the highest in 13 years for the month, according to Knight Frank India. In comparison, 10,967 units were registered in January 2024, while December 2024 saw 12,418 registrations. Overall, Mumbai city recorded a 13-year high of 1,41,202 property registrations in 2024, an 11 per cent increase from the previous year, driven by strong housing demand. December alone generated Rs 11.34 billion in revenue, with residential properties accounting for 80 per cent of total registrations. In December 2023, 12,285 properties were registered, showing consistent growth in the city’s real estate sector.

Odisha Approves 225,000 Houses Under Antyodaya Gruha Yojana
The Odisha Cabinet, led by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, has approved 225,000 pucca houses under the Antyodaya Gruha Yojana over three years, with a budget of Rs 75.5 billion. Eligible families, excluded from previous housing schemes, will receive Rs 120,000 million to build 25-sq m cement-roofed homes. Priority goes to disaster-affected, displaced, disabled, and Forest Rights Act beneficiaries. Families completing houses within four and six months of the first instalment will get incentives of Rs 20,000 and Rs 10,000, respectively. Asbestos, tin, and tile-roofed houses are excluded. The scheme includes newly formed families, defining them as a husband, wife, children, and dependent parents.
