Google to Set Up 1 GW AI Data Centre in Visakhapatnam

As per news reports, Google has announced plans to establish a 1 gigawatt hyperscale AI data centre in Visakhapatnam district, Andhra Pradesh, with an investment of approximately Rs 1.25 trillion.
The project will be developed in partnership with Adani ConneX and Airtel’s data infrastructure arm, marking one of the largest data centre investments in India. The Andhra Pradesh government has allocated around 600 acre across Tarluvad, Rambilli and Adavivaram for the development.
The announcement was made during the inauguration of the Google Cloud AI Hub, attended by N. Chandrababu Naidu and Ashwini Vaishnaw, along with senior industry and government representatives.
The facility is expected to support India’s growing demand for AI and cloud infrastructure, while strengthening the state’s positioning as an emerging digital and technology hub.
