Telangana govt allocates Rs 10,903 cr to MAUD department

The Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MAUD) department has received over Rs 10,903 crore from the Telangana government in the Budget for the financial year 2022-23. In light of the large projects currently in the works, it is on track.

Under scheme expenditure, the government has shown Rs 6,798.63 crore. The government has allocated Rs 351.36 crore for the Smart City project and Rs 133.53 crore for the AMRUT 2.0 scheme, among other schemes.

The government has allocated Rs 350 crore to the Yadagirigutta Area Development Authority and Rs 50 crore to the Vemulawada Area Development Authority. It has set aside Rs 200 crore for the development of catchment areas along the Musi River. It set aside Rs 300 crore for the Water Board to provide 20,000 litres of free water to Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) residents. A total of Rs 100 crore has been set aside as seed money for land pooling.

The government has set aside Rs 75.47 crore for the construction of airstrips. Around Rs 150.94 crore has been allocated to the Hyderabad agglomeration. It set aside Rs 68.89 crore for the central Swachh Bharat scheme.

The government has allocated Rs 697 crore to provide financial assistance to municipalities, Rs 75.40 crore to the urban health sector, Rs 283 crore to interest-free loans in cities, and Rs 10 crore to the Khammam, Karimnagar, Nizamabad, and Ramagundam corporations.

The government has set aside Rs 400 crore for the integrated veg and non-veg markets. It provided Rs 100 crore for Vaikunta dhamams in civic areas, Rs 10.06 crore for National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM), and Rs 800 crore for Urban Bhagiratha.
