Amendment in Maharashtra Municipalities Act

The Maharashtra Government has decided to amend Maharashtra Municipalities Act, to reduce the time taken for companies to set up their industrial units. Under the amendment, if a company gets clearance from Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation to set a unit, it will not have to gain a similar permission from the Municipal Corporation. Currently, 70 permissions are required for setting industrial units in the State but under the new policy of ease of doing business, permissions are being simplified.
