Amit Shah Addresses Maheshwari Global Convention in Jodhpur

Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah recently addressed the Maheshwari Global Convention and Expo 2026 in Jodhpur, Rajasthan, praising the Maheshwari community’s historic and ongoing contribution to nation-building through enterprise, service and social organisation.

Speaking at the convention, Shri Shah said the Maheshwari community has played a vital role from the struggle against the Mughals and the freedom movement to post-independence efforts towards self-reliance. He noted that the community has consistently been a job creator rather than a job seeker, contributing through manufacturing, trade, wealth creation and adoption of technology while remaining rooted in tradition.

The Home Minister said India has progressed from being the world’s 11th-largest economy to the fourth over the past decade and is on course to become the third-largest. He emphasised that Atmanirbhar Bharat can be achieved through expanded manufacturing, increased exports, digital transactions and the adoption of technology, supported by the principles of Swadeshi and Swabhasha.

Shri Shah highlighted that communities strengthen the nation through organisation and collective responsibility, rather than dividing it. He added that if every community works to uplift its weakest members and make them self-reliant, the goal of a self-reliant India will be realised automatically.

Calling upon the youth of the Maheshwari community, the Home Minister urged them to champion entrepreneurship, indigenous manufacturing and Indian languages, stating that cultural roots and economic progress must advance together to achieve the vision of a developed India by 2047.
