Astra Microwave Secures Rs 22,052.3 mn HAL Order

Astra Microwave Products surged 12.09 per cent to Rs 1,933.95 after the company said it had secured an order worth Rs 22,052.3 million (mn) from Hindustan Aeronautics for the procurement of critical systems for the Uttam Radar programme. The domestic contract, awarded by Hindustan Aeronautics, a Government of India enterprise under the Ministry of Defence, covers supply of 122 Advanced Array Assembly Units and 121 Interface Frames. The order value is inclusive of all applicable taxes and GST and is scheduled to be executed over a period of five years.

The equipment forms part of procurement for the Uttam Radar programme and is intended to support critical airborne surveillance and defence applications. The company will supply the Advanced Array Assembly Units and Interface Frames as specified under the contract terms and delivery schedule agreed with the original equipment manufacturer. Execution across five years provides multiyear revenue visibility for the firm.

Astra Microwave Products reported a consolidated net profit increase of 44.23 per cent to Rs 1,059.8 mn in the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2026 over the same quarter a year earlier, on revenue from operations that rose by 19.71 per cent to Rs 4,882.4 mn. The improvement in profitability and top line was presented in the company financials for Q4 FY26 and reflects performance in defence electronics contracts and related services. The firm operates in defence electronics, specialising in radar systems and subsystems.

The HAL order prompted market interest given its scale and the direct link to a domestic original equipment manufacturer, contributing to the stock movement. The award underlines the role of domestic procurement in supporting indigenous suppliers and strengthens the company's order book and production planning over the contract period.
