CMAI Proposes MSME Credit Structure Amendment

The Clothing Manufacturers Association of India (CMAI) has proposed amendments to the credit structure for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), emphasizing the need for enhanced financial support. CMAI recommends extending the credit period from the existing 90 days to 120 days, providing MSMEs with greater flexibility and liquidity to manage their operations effectively.

Additionally, CMAI suggests revising the credit limit criteria to better align with the evolving needs and challenges faced by MSMEs in the retail industry. The proposed amendments aim to address key concerns related to cash flow management and access to credit for MSMEs, enabling them to sustain and grow their businesses amidst changing market dynamics. By advocating for changes in the MSME credit structure, CMAI seeks to promote the growth and competitiveness of MSMEs in the retail sector, fostering a conducive environment for innovation and entrepreneurship.

The recommendations put forth by CMAI reflect a collaborative effort to address the financial constraints faced by MSMEs and unlock their full potential as drivers of economic growth and employment generation. Overall, the proposed amendments underscore the importance of policy reforms in supporting the resilience and sustainability of MSMEs in the retail industry.
