Blackstone Acquires Kolkata’s South City Mall for Rs.3,250 Crore - Blackstone has acquired South City Mall in Kolkata for Rs.3,250 crore, marking one of the largest real estate deals in eastern India. The transaction includes the iconic mall, which spans over one million sq ft and houses more than 150 retail outlets, a six-screen INOX multiplex, and eastern India’s largest food court. The mall generates an annual turnover of around Rs.1,800 crore. The acquisition also covers unsold inventory from the Altair Colombo residential project. This move strengthens Blackstone’s presence in India’s high-end retail sector and signals growing investor confidence in Kolkata’s retail real estate market. National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) Invites DPR Consultancy Bids for 215 km 6-Lane Barbil–Chandikhole Highway in Odisha - The NHAI has floated a tender for consultancy services to prepare the Detailed Project Report (DPR) for a proposed 6-lane national highway spanning 215 km from Barbil to Chandikhole in Odisha. The tender, published on June 17, 2025, seeks expert input for alignment planning, design, and project feasibility. With a document fee of Rs.5,000 and no EMD required, the submission deadline is July 17, 2025. The project aims to improve regional connectivity and support economic growth in mineral-rich and industrial zones of Odisha. Malta to Establish Cultural and Trade Centre in Nagpur - The Republic of Malta has announced plans to set up a Cultural and Trade Centre in Nagpur as part of its strategic vision to strengthen ties with India. NTR and Krishna district collectors have been directed to identify 35 acres of suitable land for the facility. Chandigarh Mandates Environmental Clearance for Large-Scale Construction Projects - Chandigarh’s UT Environment Department has mandated environmental clearance for large construction and township projects—specifically those exceeding 50 ha or 150,000 m² of built-up area, and buildings over 20,000 m².
