To meet growing domestic and global demand, Sonalika Tractors envisioned a modern, scalable manufacturing facility. The company partnered with Everest Industries, a specialist in high-performance Pre-Engineered Buildings (PEBs), to realise this vision in Hoshiarpur, Punjab.Smart design meets heavy-duty demandsSpanning 17,200 sq m, the factory-cum-workshop was designed to house large machinery, assembly lines, and utilities under one robust roof. Everest Industries tackled the challenge of delivering scale, speed, and structural strength while ensuring energy efficiency and operational flexibility. The final structure utilised over 1,529 MT of steel, a testament to its complex engineering.Engineering excellenceThe facility was built with clear-span interiors to support smooth workflow and flexible machinery placement. Everest’s in-house team optimised steel tonnage while accommodating heavy cranes and service pipelines. The structure features insulated roofing and cladding systems using 0.55 mm bare Galvalume sheets for the roof and 0.5 mm colour-coated Galvalume sheets for walls. This not only enhances thermal performance but also adds durability and aesthetic value.Designed with future expansion in mind, the modular setup allows for scalability without disrupting ongoing operations. The integration of an insulated building envelope also helps regulate indoor temperatures and improve energy efficiency.Seamless execution amid challengesDespite heavy monsoon delays, Everest maintained its timeline through strategic rescheduling and weatherproof techniques. Their detailing team ensured fabrication precision, while close coordination with Sonalika’s engineers enabled seamless integration with existing infrastructure. Notably, the project recorded zero safety incidents, with efficient manpower management during peak operations.Delivering value and performancePost-completion, Sonalika’s operations have benefited from improved workflow, better working conditions, and lower maintenance needs. The use of weather-resistant materials and well-ventilated, well-lit interiors has resulted in higher productivity and reduced operational costs.Setting a new benchmarkThis project underscores Everest Industries’ ability to deliver complex, large-scale industrial infrastructure with advanced engineering and sustainable design. The successful collaboration with Sonalika Tractors reflects the growing need for future-ready manufacturing solutions in India’s industrial landscape.(Communication by the management of Everest Industries.)
