Gautam Buddh Nagar authorities have urged to curb pollution

Gautam Buddh Nagar District Magistrate Manish Verma has urged industries and builders to step up anti-pollution measures at their sites and directed government officials to ensure punitive action against those violating NGT norms across Noida and Greater Noida. During a meeting with representatives of industrial units, Verma emphasised the need to address the severe air pollution in the district. He stressed that keeping dust and soil accumulated around industrial units is unacceptable and that regular water sprinkling should be implemented. He also instructed that garbage disposal should be handled responsibly, prohibiting the burning of industrial waste. Verma acknowledged that construction activities contribute significantly to air pollution. He instructed builders to strictly adhere to dust control measures, including covering construction materials, using water sprinklers, and ensuring the proper disposal of construction waste. The district administration has warned of strict action against violators, including hefty fines and even project stoppages. Officials have been directed to conduct regular inspections and enforce NGT norms diligently. The call for enhanced anti-pollution measures comes amidst growing concerns about the deteriorating air quality in Noida and Greater Noida. The district has been consistently ranked among the most polluted cities in India, posing a serious threat to public health. Verma's emphasis on the responsibility of industries and builders to combat pollution is a crucial step in addressing the environmental challenges faced by the region. The strict enforcement of anti-pollution measures is essential to protect the health of residents and ensure a sustainable environment for future generations.
