IIM Ranchi Wins Cummins India’s REDEFINE 2025 Case Competition

Cummins India has concluded the eighth edition of its flagship B-school case study competition, REDEFINE 2025, with Team Crow from the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Ranchi winning the top honour. The team received the winner’s trophy and cash prize, while Team Visioners from the Indian School of Business, Mohali was declared runner-up. IIM Ranchi also secured victory in the event’s social media contest.
Centred on the theme “From Backup to Backbone: Driving the Energy Shift,” the competition invited students to propose innovative, sustainable solutions addressing challenges across the energy value chain. This year’s edition saw strong participation, with 6,453 students forming 2,151 teams from 19 leading B-schools nationwide. After multiple evaluation rounds, six finalist teams advanced to the grand finale hosted at Cummins India Office Campus, Pune.
The two-day finale included leadership interactions, networking sessions and guided tours of the Cummins Technical Center India (CTCI) and the Kothrud Engine Plant (KEP). Finalists presented to a distinguished jury and took part in a live voting round by Cummins employees. As part of a parallel social media challenge, all teams created short introduction videos for LinkedIn, with IIM Ranchi’s entry attracting the highest engagement.

The jury panel included senior leaders from Cummins India: Srinivasa Raghavan, Executive Director – Engineering and Chief Technical Officer; Jameson Mendonca, Power Generation Business Leader; and Sachin Simant, Director – Strategy, Product Planning and Digital, Power Systems Business Unit.
Ahead of the finale, Cummins India hosted leadership sessions and quizzes to help teams understand the company’s mission and the changing energy landscape.

6. Ninja Turtles – Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow

VECV sales rise 6.9% in April 2026

VE Commercial Vehicles, a joint venture between Volvo Group and Eicher Motors, recorded sales of 7,318 units in April 2026, compared to 6,846 units in April 2025, registering 6.9 per cent growth.
