Indofast Energy and GLIDA to Expand Battery Swapping Network

Indofast Energy and GLIDA have joined to expand a battery swapping network for electric two wheelers and commercial electric vehicles across India. The partnership brings together Indofast Energy, a battery leasing and energy infrastructure company, and GLIDA, a battery services and logistics firm, to accelerate deployment of shared swap stations. The companies said the collaboration will target faster turnaround times for vehicle operators and promote scalability of electric mobility services.

The network will use standardised swappable battery packs to enable rapid exchanges and reduce downtime for fleet operators and individual riders. Indofast Energy will oversee station deployment and operations while GLIDA will manage logistics and battery lifecycle services including testing, refurbishment and recycling coordination. The design emphasises modular stations that can be sited at retail locations, transport hubs and fleet depots to reach urban and peri urban customers. The partners plan to adapt station footprints to local demand patterns and regulatory requirements.

The companies outlined a service model that combines subscription plans with pay per swap options to suit fleet and individual requirements. Battery health monitoring and remote diagnostics will be integrated to maintain availability and safety standards and to extend usable battery life. The partnership will also focus on establishing supply chain links for cells and packs and on training technicians to support local operations. Data collected from operations will inform deployment priorities and battery allocation strategies.

The collaboration is presented as a commercial effort to scale infrastructure and to lower total cost of ownership for electric vehicle operators while supporting energy system flexibility. By coordinating station networks and logistics the partners aim to improve utilisation of existing vehicles and to create predictable service coverage for operators. Indofast Energy and GLIDA said they will begin phased roll out and will refine operational metrics as the network grows. This aligns with national goals.
