Mindspace EcoRun Returns With Sustainability Focus

Hyderabad witnessed an early morning surge on February 22, 2026, as over 4,200 runners took part in the Mindspace EcoRun 2.0 at Mindspace Madhapur. The event was organised by Mindspace REIT with Mirchi and returned for a second year with a sustainability focus. Radio jockeys and several celebrities were present to flag off the run.

Participants competed across five km, 10 km and 21 km categories, with the 21 km and 10 km open to those aged 18 years and above and the five km open to those aged eight years and above. The field included seasoned runners, first timers, families and corporate teams, creating a broad cross section of the city’s communities. Organisers reported strong turnout across Hyderabad.

Mindspace EcoRun 2.0 was designed as a planet friendly event and featured eco conscious race kits such as plantable bibs, organic jerseys and refillable hydration stations, along with biodegradable cutlery. These measures aimed to reduce single use consumption and improve waste management. The approach highlighted how large scale events can minimise environmental impact while promoting fitness.

An EcoRun Expo on February 20 and 21 hosted a Sustainability Flea Market showcasing responsibly sourced products and creating livelihood opportunities for specially abled individuals and women from underprivileged communities with NGO partner Nirmaan. Event waste will be upcycled into functional chairs to be donated to school children supported by partner NGOs. The programme sought to ensure participant activity translated into tangible social benefits.

Shrawan Kumar Gone, chief operating officer at K Raheja Corp for Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, said the event reflected a commitment to integrating sustainability into development and showed how community engagement can deliver measurable environmental and social impact. He added that organisers anticipate growing the platform year after year to deepen its footprint. Mindspace EcoRun will be hosted across Mumbai and Hyderabad and aims to strengthen community wellness and sustainability led action.
