Skill Centre, Tree Mission Inaugurated in Jaipur Visit

During a landmark visit to Jaipur, Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship and Minister of State for Education, Shri Jayant Chaudhary inaugurated a new Skill Centre at the Chaudhary Charan Singh National Institute of Agricultural Marketing (CCS NIAM). The facility is designed to serve as a specialised training hub for agri-business management, warehouse operations, digital agriculture, and value chain development—geared towards empowering future agri-entrepreneurs, cooperatives, and rural marketing professionals.

In a move to recognise the existing workforce, the Minister felicitated trainees under the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) programme, implemented with the Warehousing Development and Regulatory Authority (WDRA). The RPL certification aims to formalise the skills of warehouse assayers, improving their employability in the agri-logistics sector.

Interacting with students and experts, Shri Chaudhary underscored the importance of skilling in support of India’s large-scale food grain storage initiatives, emphasising the need for market-ready, flexible career paths for rural youth.

As part of his visit, the Minister planted a sapling at the Krishi Udyamita Upvan, affirming CCS NIAM’s commitment to sustainable practices. He also paid floral tribute to Bharat Ratna and former Prime Minister Shri Chaudhary Charan Singh, whose vision continues to guide India’s rural development policies.

Later, Shri Chaudhary inaugurated Phase II of the Chaudhary Charan Singh Parivarik Vaniki Mission at Nevta Gram Panchayat in Jaipur Rural. The campaign, launched in honour of Shri Chaudhary Charan Singh’s 125th birth anniversary, aims to plant 125 million trees by 2027 and develop 125 “Smriti Vans” (memorial forests) across the country.

With support from teachers, students, Gram Panchayats, and organisations like the Rajasthan Shikshak Sangh Shekhawat—which has pledged to plant 1 million saplings this year—the initiative has emerged as a nationwide environmental movement. On the inaugural day alone, over 100,000 saplings were planted across 500 locations in Rajasthan, making it one of the largest community-driven green drives in the state.

Describing the mission as a fusion of environmental responsibility and pro-farmer legacy, Shri Chaudhary called it a step towards climate justice. He noted that the campaign not only honours Chaudhary Charan Singh’s self-reliance ethos but also encourages families and communities to become environmental custodians.

The initiative includes geo-tagging of saplings, awareness campaigns, and community monitoring to ensure sustainable outcomes. It aims to create climate-resilient ecosystems through collaborative efforts between education, society, and governance.

Shri Chaudhary was joined by local leaders including Shri Lal Chand Kataria, Shri Chandan Chauhan (MP), Dr Subhash Garg (MLA), Shri Kailash Verma (MLA), and Smt Rama Devi (Zila Pramukh). The day concluded with a public address urging citizens to preserve Chaudhary Charan Singh’s legacy through united environmental action.
