Sonowal Launches ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ Drive in Dibrugarh

Union Minister of Ports, Shipping & Waterways Sarbananda Sonowal launched the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ (Tricolour in Every Home) campaign in Dibrugarh on Wednesday, ahead of India’s 79th Independence Day celebrations.
Sonowal, who represents the Dibrugarh Lok Sabha constituency, visited the homes of former BJP district president and retired Dibrugarh University professor Dr Harendra Narayan Dutta; renowned folk artist Ramchandra Sanchoni; and senior advocate Asim Dutta, the founding president of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) in Dibrugarh. During the visits, he presented each of them with the national flag, encouraging their participation in the campaign.
The minister also distributed flags to students, urging the younger generation to embrace patriotism and take pride in the national emblem. Earlier in the day, he paid tribute at the statue of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose in Shantipara, Dibrugarh, acknowledging the leader’s role and sacrifice in India’s freedom struggle.
The event was attended by BJP Dibrugarh district president Dulal Bora, general secretary Sushil Tasa, Assam Tourism Development Corporation Chairman Rituparna Baruah, Dibrugarh Municipal Corporation Mayor Saikat Patra, Deputy Mayor Ujjal Phukan, Dibrugarh Development Authority Chairman Asim Hazarika, BJP Mahila Morcha district president Mamun Gogoi Mitra, and Dibrugarh Zila Parishad chairperson Pushpanjali Sonowal.
