TCS, Virgin Atlantic Extend Digital Transformation Deal

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has expanded its long-standing partnership with Virgin Atlantic through a new seven-year agreement aimed at accelerating the airline’s digital transformation journey. Building on a relationship that spans over two decades, the collaboration will see TCS modernise Virgin Atlantic’s core technology systems, focusing on cloud-first, AI-driven infrastructure to enhance operational resilience, customer experience, and retail transformation.
Under the renewed contract, TCS will implement an advanced Technology Command Centre, developed in collaboration with Virgin Atlantic, to provide real-time operational insights. This will streamline technology operations, support contextual decision-making, and improve both customer and crew experiences, enabling efficient, sustainable, and hyper-personalised journeys.
Oli Byers, CFO of Virgin Atlantic, said, “Technology will enable us to deliver smarter, simpler, and more memorable experiences. TCS has been a trusted partner for over 20 years, and together we’ll work towards our goal of becoming the most loved travel company.”
TCS will deploy its proprietary solutions—TCS Cognix™ and TCS AI WisdomNext™—to drive automation, improve efficiency, and ensure Virgin Atlantic maintains a resilient and agile digital core. These technologies will support innovation across revenue, service, and operational metrics, all delivered by a dedicated onsite team familiar with the airline’s unique environment.
Amit Kapur, Country Head – UK & Ireland, TCS, commented:
“Our partnership reflects a shared vision for intelligent, scalable digital ecosystems. With deep aviation expertise and advanced capabilities in AI, data, and engineering, we’re helping Virgin Atlantic redefine the future of travel.”
TCS has been a key innovation partner for Virgin Atlantic, which carried over 5 million passengers globally in 2024 and operates flights to over 30 destinations worldwide. The extended partnership cements a new phase of collaboration, positioning Virgin Atlantic as a future-ready airline equipped to meet evolving passenger expectations and industry benchmarks.
With over 30 years of experience in aviation technology, TCS continues to serve the world’s leading airlines with tailored digital solutions. In the UK, TCS works with more than 200 major businesses, including nearly half of the FTSE 100, and holds a leadership position in the country’s IT services sector.
