TVS Motor to Buy Italy’s Engines Engineering

TVS Motor Company has agreed to acquire Engines Engineering S.p.A. (EE), an Italian automotive design and engineering firm, for Rs 52 crore. The deal will support TVS’s plan to establish a global Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Bologna.

The acquisition, completed at EUR 5.05 per share, involves the purchase of one million equity shares, representing 100% of EE’s capital. TVS said the CoE will function as a concept-to-product hub, integrating EE’s expertise with its global R&D network.

“By combining the creativity and racing expertise of Engines Engineering with our engineering and design strengths, we aim to deliver premium, connected, and electric vehicles that set new global benchmarks,” said Sudarshan Venu, Chairman, TVS Motor Company.

The CoE will also enhance Norton Motorcycles’ ability to produce high-performance bikes. TVS expects the move to shorten development cycles, boost design flexibility, and expand its portfolio across motorcycles, scooters and electric mobility.
