Essar Steel to expand capacity

Essar Steel plans to expand its current production capacity of 4.6 mn tonne to 10 mn tonne with an investment of $2.5 bn. The company also plans to expand its distribution network through Expressmarts and Expresspoints, which are owned by the company dealers. Essar Hypermart targets to establish a total of 150 Hypermalls of its own and 500 in franchisee model. The company has been operating 85 Hypermalls and 300 franchised stores across India.
