Task force clears steel projects

The Odisha Government has cleared Rs 100.53 bn worth investment projects involving eight proposals. These include one steel plant and numerous pelletisation projects. Of these, Kalinga Steel Tech plans to set up a new integrated steel plant with a capacity of a 1.2 mtpa in the Sundargarh district. As for the remaining pelletisation projects, the largest investment proposal is from Jindal Steel and Power, which proposes a 5 mtpa iron ore pellet plant in the Keonjhar district.
