The Kerala Government has been urged to speed up development works in north Kerala including the acquisition of 248.3 acre for the infrastructure development of Calicut International Airport. Additional land is required for the expansion of the runway. The operation of E-category (wide-bodied and heavy transport aircraft with wingspan of 52 m to 65 m) aircraft and other development works can be carried out only if this is achieved.
