Darbhanga emerges as top airport under UDAN scheme

According to a representative of the Airport Authority of India (AAI), Darbhanga airport in Bihar has become the best airport in the nation under the regional air connectivity scheme UDAN since commercial aircraft started operating there two and a half years ago.

According to the official, the airport handled 14,13,510 passengers and 9,610 flights between November 8, 2020, and April 15, 2023.

The number of passengers increased from 1,53,232 in the fiscal year 2020–21 to 6,19,586 in the following year and then 6,16,058 in the following fiscal year.

According to records, the airport has witnessed a total of 6,81,945 arrivals since opening, with 7,06,931 leaving passengers as of March 31, 2023.
