IndiGo Approves USD 820 Million Investment In IFSC Arm

IndiGo has approved a capital investment of USD 820 million — around Rs 72.94 billion — in its wholly owned subsidiary, InterGlobe Aviation Financial Services IFSC Private Limited (IndiGo IFSC). The investment will be made through a mix of equity shares and 0.01 per cent Non-Cumulative Optionally Convertible Redeemable Preference Shares (OCRPS) in one or more tranches.

The capital infusion will primarily support the acquisition of aviation assets, enabling IndiGo IFSC to take ownership of aircraft. IndiGo has traditionally operated a fleet largely dependent on operating leases. In recent years, however, the airline has been moving towards a more balanced ownership model supported by diversified financing structures.

The decision underscores IndiGo’s long-term strategy of prudent capital allocation and sustainable value creation for stakeholders, while strengthening its financial and operational flexibility.
