YEIDA reveals master plan 2041 focusing Noida International Airport

The Yamuna Expressway Authority unveils the Master Plan 2041, with Noida International Airport and industrial corridors as main points.

The master plan aims to create a sustainable and globally recognised city that capitalises on the economic opportunities surrounding world-class infrastructure while ensuring the highest living standards for its citizens.

While the notified area of Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) comprises 2,689 sq km and divided into six districts, this master plan focuses on Phase 1 of the notified region, which includes 171 settlements and covers 604 sq km.

According to the 2011 Census, the overall population of the present planned area is 3.74 lakh, with projections of 35 lakhs by 2031 and 41.7 lakhs by 2041.

The master plan revealed that given at the Authority's recently finished board meeting, a total of 13.67 lakh employment would be developed in a phased way by 2041.

As per the planned plan, YEIDA has a lot of potential for small and medium-sized businesses, including cottage industries.

As a result, it encompasses a significant area of industrial activity. In order to meet future industrial demands, provisions for logistical infrastructure must also be designed.

By 2041, YEIDA territories will have created a total of 16 new sectors. It has also been recommended that industrial employees be housed in service flats and dormitories.

The plan also considers history and cultural factors so that the city may serve as a regional gateway.

The Authority also plans to build a heritage city that would be connected to Mathura-Vrindavan. The development dynamics of Noida and Greater Noida also impact YEIDA Phase 1.

Besides the Yamuna and Eastern Peripheral expressways, additional proposed expressways such as the Ganga and Upper Ganga Canal are also proposed in the area.

There are also plans for an interstate bus terminal, freight routes, and depots. Parking is a crucial component of transportation, and the design adequately addresses this issue by providing on-street and off-street parking options.

While the area's development would most likely take several years, sequential and logical phasing of infrastructure is required to reduce risk and increase economic feasibility.

According to the draught plan, market demand, regulatory framework, infrastructural development, and fiscal effect will drive and phase the site, location, and kind of development in the designated region. Aerotropolis, Central Business District, and Olympic City are some of the key concepts around the airport.
