RVNL Awards Rs 850 Million Surveillance Project to Provigil

Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) has appointed Provigil Surveillance Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Magellanic Cloud Limited, to deploy video surveillance systems across Southern Railway stations under a contract valued at approximately Rs 850 million.
The project covers 441 D and E category stations, along with upgrades at 43 major stations (A1, A, and B categories). The surveillance network will feature AI-enabled systems designed to enhance passenger safety while ensuring cybersecurity compliance.
This award follows Provigil’s recent project wins, including a Rs 320 million Letter of Acceptance from NHAI and a Rs 22.5 million contract from South Central Railway for AI-based video surveillance. Together with the Southern Railway deal, these projects total Rs 1.19 billion.
The Southern Railway project will involve the supply, installation, and commissioning of high-definition IP CCTV cameras at railway stations and RPF/GRP posts, as well as the deployment of networking infrastructure and AI-based video management servers with facial recognition capabilities.
The upgraded surveillance aligns with RDSO specifications and national cybersecurity standards, offering real-time monitoring, anomaly detection, and rapid incident response.
