Projects worth over Rs 5,000 crore that were set into motion by the Sheila Dikshit government are set to lose crucial momentum due to the recent election results. The big ones are transport related, be it the ambitious project of connecting Vikaspuri in West Delhi with Wazirabad in North Delhi at an estimated cost of Rs 2,200 crore, the construction of a Monorail in East Delhi at roughly the same cost, or the extension of Barapullah flyover. These and several other smaller projects have either been implemented recently or are in the final stage of implementation. But now the decision-making vacuum may translate into a crippling slowdown.
