Rs 3.97-cr road works taken up in Nashik's industrial area

A plan has been chalked out for tarring of roads worth Rs 3.97-crore in Ambad industrial areas of Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) by the Nashik Municipal Corporation (NMC). The Municipal Commissioner Sanjay Khandare announced this at a meeting with the office-bearers of Ambad Industries & Manufacturers' Association (AIMA) recently.

In the first phase, tarring of three major roads along with road repairs will be carried out in Ambad MIDC. This includes tarring of roads from Meltron to Lear company, Delta Magnetic to Ambad Power House, and Capital Food to Exclo Circle via NMC's House tax office in Ambad MIDC area.

The proposals will be presented at the general body meeting for approval soon. AIMA president Suresh Mali said that they discussed various issues like road works, streetlights and garbage. The NMC has chalked out a proposal for tarring of major roads worth Rs 3.97-crore. Around 30 per cent streetlights are not functioning in Ambad MIDC. Khandare has also given instructions to the officials to make them operational at the earliest and provide vehicles to carry our road repair works.

The number of ghantagadis (garbage collecting vehicles) would be increased. The NMC has also prepared a plan for an industrial exhibition centre and such a proposal will be presented to the general body for approval. The NMC has also sent a letter to MIDC asking it to chalk out a proposal under Jawaharlal Nehru Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM).
