Sangrur-Khanouri road to be widened

The Punjab Government plans to expand the 60 km long Sangrur-Khanouri road into four-lanes at Rs 600 crore, mainly to strengthen road connectivity for Malwa region with Delhi area in the state. The state government stated that the road expansion project will be completed by June 2016. On the stretch, a total of 33 railway-over-bridges and under-bridges have been completed at a cost of Rs 565 crore while an additional six are in progress at an estimated cost of Rs 110 crore.
