Uttarakhand has secured the first spot among all the states for constructing the maximum number of roads under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojna. A total of 1,839 km of roads were built in the state against a target of 1,500 km, set for the 2017-18 period. It has also finished second in terms of connecting 207 habitations with roads, against a target of 172. The Uttarakhand Rural Road Development Agency chief engineer received awards on achieving the feat.
