Brahmaputra Infrastructure JV Leads Rs. 897.3 mn Bridge Bid

Brahmaputra Infrastructure shares rose after its joint venture secured the lowest bidder position for a bridge project across the River Ravi in Punjab. The stock reached an intraday high of Rs. 149.90 on 9 October, gaining 6 per cent during the session.

BIL-GKCPL, a joint venture between Brahmaputra Infrastructure and GKCPL, is currently the L-1 bidder for the project. The tender was issued by the Executive Engineer of the Construction Division under the Public Works Department’s Buildings and Roads Branch in Pathankot, representing the Government of Punjab.

The tender is valued at Rs. 897.3 mn, with the proposed bridge to be built at Makoura Pattan. The structure will comprise 44 spans, each measuring 36.50 metres, making the bridge approximately 1.6 km long. Approach roads will add about 4.1 km, taking the overall project length to roughly 5.75 km.

The scheduled execution period is 24 months. Brahmaputra Infrastructure first disclosed the bidding position in a filing dated 17 September and stated that the awarding authority was not a related party. Being the lowest bidder precedes the formal award of the contract.

The company has also reported other recent orders. It received a Rs. 780.9 mn contract from West Bengal’s state power distribution company for a road and access tunnel at a pumped-storage power project, along with a Rs. 701.8 mn order from the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways in August for five-year maintenance of NH-502A in Mizoram.

Revenue for FY26 was Rs. 3.65 bn. At 14:13, the shares traded at Rs. 143.88 on the NSE, up 2.41 per cent from the previous close of Rs. 140.49. The stock remained down 3.34 per cent over the previous week and 8.42 per cent over the previous month. The company’s market value was approximately Rs. 4.18 bn, while its 52-week range stood between Rs. 138 and Rs. 184.
