Road Widener recasts Curb Backfilling with FH-R material
Known as the Curb Backfiller, this attachment seamlessly connects to the FH-R, efficiently distributing material over the curb for backfilling with either dirt or aggregate. This innovation replaces the traditional manual backfilling method, reducing the need for workers armed with shovels. According to the company, this not only enhances safety, efficiency, and precision but also prevents debris from cluttering the roadway, eliminating the requirement for additional cleanup with street sweepers.
The Curb Backfiller offers flexibility by defaulting to filling on the right-hand side but can also be configured for left-hand filling with its dual configuration. Road Widener highlights its suitability for residential developments featuring new curbs and parking lots with green spaces that necessitate backfill.
Compatible with skid steers, compact track loaders, wheel loaders, and motor graders, both the FH-R and Curb Backfiller can be operated using the same remote control. This integration minimises the workforce needed, with just one operator required.
To enhance durability and prolong curb life, a protective wheel is incorporated into the accessory, preventing it from scraping against the curb during operation. Jeremy Dehnel, Director of Sales at Road Widener LLC, emphasises the company's commitment to addressing the labour shortage in the industry by providing solutions that boost efficiency, safety, and project timelines.
