RP-SG Group to Invest Rs 30 Billion in 3 GW Solar Hub

The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (Yeida) announced that the RP-Sanjiv Goenka Group will establish a renewable energy project with a proposed investment of Rs 30 billion. The project will feature a 3-gigawatt (GW) solar cell and integrated solar ecosystem hub in Sector 8B near Noida International Airport along the Yamuna Expressway.
“A state-of-the-art facility producing advanced solar cells using technologies such as TOPCon and perovskite-tandem cells will be developed. The project will also include a 60 MW captive solar and energy storage plant to ensure a reliable energy supply,” said Yeida CEO RK Singh.
The company has indicated that the hub will utilise innovative solar technologies with efficiencies above 28–30 per cent, reducing power costs by 10–15 per cent. The project will also include ancillary units for frames, encapsulants, and process consumables, cutting reliance on imported solar modules.
Yeida has issued a Letter of Intent (LoI) for 100 acres in Sector 8D, allowing the project to proceed. Officials highlighted that the initiative will strengthen India’s solar manufacturing capabilities and establish Uttar Pradesh as a leader in the renewable energy sector.
