Rs 1.94 bn invested by Nashik Municipal Corporation to construct roads

Road development throughout six divisions of the city will cost Rs 1.94 billion, according to the Nashik Municipal Corporation (NMC). This comprises Rs 500 million for building roadways in the expanding outskirts and Rs 500 million for repurposing the city's existing major roads. Road development has been suggested by NMC in the budget for the fiscal year 2023-2024. Six divisions’ colony roads would be developed with the remaining Rs 940 million.

A route connecting Old CBS to Old Gangapur Naka via Canada Corner has been suggested for redevelopment by the civic government at a cost of Rs 250 million. Moreover, NMC has suggested spending Rs 400 million to reconstruct the road that runs from Garware Point to Papaya Nursery via XLO Point. It connects the Ambad and Satupur industrial areas of the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC), two of the city's largest industrial parks.

According to Nikhil Panchal, President of Ambad Industries & Manufacturers' Association (AIMA), "We have been pushing the civic authority to revamp the major route from Garware point to Papaya Nursery for the past two years as the defect liability term of this road ended around five years ago.”

"The civic authority has finally recommended the rebuilding of this route in the budget. This is a wonderful development for us," continued Panchal. At Nashik Road Divisions, a new road leading to the divisional commissionerate will cost Rs 86 million. The NMC has also chosen to spend Rs 500 million on the road construction in newly developing areas. Adgaon, Makhmalabad, and other newly developing suburbs of the city will have constructed roads.
