Rs 3.38 bn Road Projects Launched in Ibrahimpatnam

Telangana's infrastructure expansion gathered momentum as Roads and Buildings Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy launched a series of road development projects worth Rs 3.38 bn in Ibrahimpatnam mandal, describing the initiative as a key step towards a safer, faster and more connected transport network around Hyderabad. The works, to be undertaken under the Hybrid Annuity Model (HAM), cover the upgradation of 14 roads stretching 149 kilometres across the Hyderabad Rural region. The foundation stone was laid at Thorrur village with the minister stating the government is committed to delivering modern infrastructure to meet the needs of rapidly growing urban and semi?urban communities.

Officials said the state plans a wider modernisation programme to improve 441 roads spanning 6,092 kilometres under 34 HAM packages at an estimated investment of nearly Rs 130 bn, an initiative formally launched by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy. The latest package in the Ibrahimpatnam area is part of that programme and includes key corridors connecting Hayathnagar, Thorrur, Koheda, Anajpur, Abdullapurmet, Bandaraviryal, Kuntloor, Pasumamula, Taramatipet, Injapur, Brahmanpally and Ragannaguda. Many of these areas have witnessed rapid expansion owing to their proximity to Hyderabad's growth corridors and major transport networks.

The package comprises modern four?lane roads equipped with central divider lighting to improve visibility and safety for commuters. Upgraded corridors will serve the Assembly constituencies of Ibrahimpatnam, Maheshwaram, Medchal and LB Nagar, enhancing connectivity for thousands of residents and businesses. The projects are expected to reduce congestion, shorten travel times and lower accident risks on some of the region's busiest routes.

The minister emphasised that quality, durability and road safety are central to the government's infrastructure strategy and said improved mobility would facilitate trade, attract investment and generate employment by improving access between residential, commercial and industrial zones. Local public representatives and senior officials, including MLA Malreddy Ranga Reddy, MPs Kiran Kumar Chamakura, Etala Rajender and K. Vishweshwar Reddy and MLC Shankar Naik, attended the programme. Officials added the works under HAM will support long?term development of Hyderabad's eastern and south?eastern suburbs.
