Titans Dr Nalin Gupta, MD, J Kumar Infraprojects, and Ranga Raju, CEO and MD, NCC, were at the helm of affairs when the lowest bid was quoted by the JKumar-NCC joint venture for the `63.01 billion Goregaon-Mulund Link Road (GMLR) underground tunnels project. Eight months after inviting bids and floating a tender for constructing the twin [4.70 km each] tunnels, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) had finalised the bid. Construction is expected to take five years for the project which aims to connect the eastern and western suburbs of Mumbai and will consist of twin tunnels spanning 12.20 km.
