Vijayawada Metro Phase 1 Gets Rs 2.05 Bn Consultant Boost

The Andhra Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation Limited (APMRCL) has issued a Request for Proposal (RFP) to appoint a general consultant for Phase 1 of the Vijayawada Metro Rail Project. The consultancy work is valued at approximately Rs 2.05 billion.

Phase 1 of the Vijayawada Metro encompasses two corridors, spanning a total length of 38.40 kilometers and includes 33 stations. The selected consultant will be responsible for preparing a combined Detailed Project Report (DPR) and providing comprehensive project management services. 
Interested firms are required to submit their proposals by 3:00 PM on June 16, 2025, with the technical bids scheduled to be opened at 3:30 PM on the same day. Upon receiving the Letter of Acceptance (LoA), the appointed consultant must deliver the combined DPRs within six weeks. 
This development follows the progress of the Visakhapatnam Metro Rail Project, where a consultancy firm is expected to be finalized by June 9, 2025, marking a significant step forward for urban transit infrastructure in Andhra Pradesh.
