New projects await Eastern Railway

Work for the corridor extension project from Gomoh to Dankuni in Bihar is expected to begin soon. The project was withheld due to land acquisition issues. The project to be executed through the Public-Private Partnership model has received bids from eight private players. Plans to electrify a 500 km tracks along with 550 km by next year is also at the planning stage.
